How it works

  • SEM-FRESHZERO includes domains never seen before (typically registered in the last 24 hours)
    • domains are automatically removed after 24 hours
  • SEM-FRESH, SEM-FRESH10, SEM-FRESH15, SEM-FRESH30 are RHSBL and include new domains based on the following criteria:
    • Domains first registered in the last N-days, where N is
      • SEM-FRESH: 5 days
      • SEM-FRESH10: 10 days
      • SEM-FRESH15: 15 days
      • SEM-FRESH30: 30 days
    • Domains are then automatically expired after N-days
  • SEM-BACKSCATTER includes all IPs that send mail to a spam trapaddress with a NULL sender (MAIL FROM: <>):
    • IPs in this list are automatically removed after 15 days of not sending backscatter to a spam trap
  • SEM-BLACK includes all IPs sending mail to a spam trap
    • IPs in this list are automatically removed after 15 days of not sending mail to a spam trap
  • SEM-IPV6BL includes all IPv6 addresses sending mail to a spam trap
    • IPs in this list are automatically removed after 15 days of not sending mail to a spam trap
  • SEM-NETBLACK includes networks identified as having a low reputation
    • entries do not expire
  • SEM-URI includes domains and URIs detected in the body of email sent to a spam trap
    • entries are automatically removed after 30 days of not being seen by a spam trap
