Overview
Abuse.ro is a free Romanian blacklist service that publishes IP and domain reputation data. Email providers can use it to detect spam sources, but Abuse.ro itself does not block any messages.
Blocklist | Query Zone | Type |
---|---|---|
uribl.abuse.ro | uribl.abuse.ro | URIBL (Domain/URI only) |
dbl.abuse.ro | dbl.abuse.ro | DNSBL (Domain) |
rbl.abuse.ro | rbl.abuse.ro | RBL (IP) |
How it works
Listings by these blocklists consist of spam reports (via volunteers) and direct spam trap hits.
Abuse.ro blacklist removal
In order to delist a domain, a notification must be sent from the postmaster address (e.g. postmaster [at] domain.tld) to the contact address (admin [at] abuse.ro), with evidence that spam flow has been stopped. They may verify the address by sending back a confirmation message and asking for a response. You can learn more at their website: https://abuse.ro/

How long will it take to be removed from the Abuse.ro blacklist?
There is no fixed timeframe. Delisting is manual and depends on confirming that spam has stopped. It often requires validation from the IP block owner and may be delayed if abuse persists.
How do I remove myself from the Abuse.ro blacklist?
Here is the Abuse.ro delist process:
Confirm listing: Reverse your IP and check.
Stop all spam: Clean up infected systems and mailing lists.
Prove ownership: Make sure you are the IP block owner.
Request manual review and delisting: Email admin@abuse.ro with details showing that spam has stopped. Abuse.ro will manually verify this information before removing the listing.
Why is my IP listed on Abuse.ro?
Your IP is listed because it was detected sending spam or it belongs to a block known for abuse. Listings may come from spam trap hits or volunteer reports. If you are afraid your IP was listed by mistake, you can contact Abuse.ro for more information.
Can I be removed from the Abuse.ro blacklist for free?
Yes, removal is free, but you must prove that spam has stopped. Abuse.ro requires evidence from the IP owner or postmaster before delisting. If you continue to have problems or your messages are still being rejected, check that your SPF and DKIM settings are correct, and verify that no spammers are using your server.
Does being listed on Abuse.ro mean my email will be blocked?
Not necessarily. Abuse.ro only publishes information. Email providers decide whether to set their servers to block or score messages from listed addresses.
Is Abuse.ro safe to use?
Yes, Abuse.ro is a publicly maintained reputation database. It does not collect personal data or interfere with mail delivery directly.
What is a DNSBL or RBL?
A DNSBL (Domain Name System Blacklist) or RBL (Realtime Blackhole List) is a list of IP addresses or domains that are known for sending spam. When someone emails you, your email server can quickly check these lists. If the sender is on the list, the server can block or mark the message as spam.
