UCEPROTECT Level 3 blocklist: check and removal guide

By Eric J · Updated March 4th, 2026 · Blocklists

UCEPROTECTL3 (dnsbl-3.uceprotect.net) is a third-level blocklist zone that can list broad IP ranges—sometimes covering an entire ISP—when nearby IPs have ongoing UCEPROTECTL1/2 issues that weren’t resolved. In most cases, delisting happens automatically after the underlying UCEPROTECTL1 and UCEPROTECTL2 listings are cleared (often within about 7 days).

What is UCEPROTECTL3?

UCEPROTECTL3 is the third-level DNS-based blocklist (DNSBL) operated by uceprotect.net. Unlike many blocklists that list a single IP, a level 3 listing can apply to a large range of IP addresses.

Practically, this means you can be listed even if your specific sending IP isn’t the original source of the problem—because your IP falls within a range that has been escalated.

Why am I listed?

UCEPROTECTL3 listings typically happen due to escalation from lower-level listings:

  • Escalation from UCEPROTECTL1 and UCEPROTECTL2 that continues beyond ~7 days
  • Range-based escalation, where the listed scope may expand to cover a much larger portion of the network (potentially the entire ISP)

In other words, UCEPROTECTL3 is usually a signal of unresolved issues on IPs “near” yours (within the same provider/network range), not necessarily a single-IP incident.

To confirm whether your sending IP (or domain) is currently listed, use InboxAlly’s free Spam Database Lookup.

How to get removed

UCEPROTECTL3 delisting is generally automated. Removal typically occurs after:

  1. The underlying issues that triggered the UCEPROTECTL1 and UCEPROTECTL2 listings are corrected, and
  2. Those associated IPs are no longer flagged

What to do on your side:

  • Identify the sending IP(s) used by your ESP or mail server
  • Check current listings with the Spam Database Lookup
  • Remediate the root cause (common examples: high complaint rates, spam-like sending patterns, poor list hygiene, or compromised accounts)
  • Wait for automated delisting, which commonly occurs within about 7 days after the related UCEPROTECTL1/2 listings clear

For ongoing monitoring, use Domain Reports in the InboxAlly app to track reputation and authentication signals over time.

For UCEPROTECTL’s own reference information, see UCEPROTECT’s website.

How does this affect deliverability?

A UCEPROTECTL3 listing can impact deliverability because some receiving systems consult DNSBLs during filtering decisions. Potential outcomes include:

  • Increased spam folder placement
  • Temporary deferrals (messages delayed)
  • Rejections/blocks by stricter receivers

Because UCEPROTECTL3 can be range-based, the impact can be inconsistent across mailbox providers—some may ignore it, while others may treat it as a strong negative signal.

Next steps

  • Re-check your IP/domain status with the Spam Database Lookup.
